GENERAL INFORMATION
İzmir Bakırçay University, which aims at establishing a medical faculty in the North of İzmir, has reached its target in the field of health as of 2018 with the decree dated 26.03.2018 and numbered 2018/11593 published in the Official Gazette dated 25.05.2018 and dated 25.05.2018 the Faculty of Medicine of İzmir Bakırçay University was established. In the 2018-2019 academic year, 31 students were admitted to our Faculty with the approval of higher education before graduation in İzmir 9 Eylül University Faculty of Medicine by the protocol made with 9 Eylül University. The Faculty of Medicine, which will give its first graduates in the academic year of 2023-2024, will serve with the regional social contribution activities in medical education research and health before and after graduation with 44 departments affiliated to basic internal medical sciences and surgical medical sciences. As of January 2023, 26 Professors, 28 Associate Professors, 34 Doctors, 6 Research Assistants, and 178 Research Assistants (TUS) are working in the Faculty of medicine. Presently necessary infrastructure preparations for establishing Basic Medical Sciences Laboratories and affinity studies with Çiğli Regional Training Hospital are continuing.
Upon graduation, our students will be given a Diploma Supplement that conforms to the European Credit Transfer System ( ECTS). In the field of education, training will be provided at international standards within the framework of national qualifications. Our university will take the Erasmus protocol to the priority agenda of the international quality of medical education. Our students can complete a stage of their education without losing a year. Additionally, there will also be a mobility for the academic staff with the universities which an agreement will be signed with.
