DEAN'S MESSAGE
Dear Medical Faculty Students,
We are delighted to have you among us. We are proud to accompany you as you take this first step on your challenging yet meaningful journey towards becoming a doctor. Our primary goal is to guide you in becoming doctors who are equipped with scientific knowledge, committed to ethical values, conscientious, and competent.
Although we are a young faculty established in 2018, we continue our work with a strong academic staff and a commitment to continuous development and improvement in the areas of education, research, community contribution, and quality.
Our mission is to train qualified healthcare professionals with a contemporary educational approach that is committed to scientific and ethical values, people-oriented, and prioritises preventive medicine; to contribute to society and science by conducting education and research at national and international levels in collaboration with institutions that provide the best healthcare services.
Our vision is to become a preferred medical faculty by training physicians who are sensitive to national and international health issues, possess ethical values, embrace evidence-based medical practices, value scientific research and biotechnology, respect patient rights, and have developed leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility.
Medical education is a long and dedicated journey that requires a high level of responsibility, strong ethical values, and a commitment to continuous learning. At our faculty, medical education is conducted within an integrated structure based on active student participation and is updated annually in line with the National Core Education Programme (UÇEP).
‘Panel Lectures’, ‘Special Study Module’ and ‘Behavioural, Social and Humanities Sciences (DSBB)’ courses, which have been implemented in medical faculties in recent years, are actively conducted at our faculty. In addition, our work continues for the medical education accreditation application process.
Our students in Terms IV, V, VI and Specialisation in Medicine are trained as well-equipped physicians, both theoretically and practically, at the Çiğli Training and Research Hospital of Izmir Bakırçay University, one of Izmir's important health centres, and contribute to our country's health system.
We take pride and joy in training the physicians and specialists of the future with our strong academic staff and hospital equipped with advanced technology infrastructure.
